Someone shared this video on facebook today and I thought I'd share it here for those of you who don't do the facebook. This speech is in fact a poem, much more powerful as spoken word. I have a feeling he's talking about the public school teachers working in the trenches, not the candy-ass college teachers riding the gravy train( I can say that because I'm one of them, right? Also, that was a joke, no need to rip me a new one in the comment section...unless you just really want to.) Though they certainly have their impact as well.
Cheers!

Thanks Brandon, no I'm not doing Facebook and I watched the Social Network, hated it! But I loved this.
My sister in law has been a teacher for 30 years and she makes a difference every day, one of the best teachers I have ever seen. My daughter has also had the great fortune to have amazing teachers. I say let's pay teachers what they deserve and stop these ridiculous salaries for sports stars, movie stars and bankers!!! Oh yeah and let's pay artists more too while we are at it!!
i missed it on FB, but am glad to see it here. my wife is a public school teacher for 12 years. my mom, for 25+ years. thanks for posting.
Wow. My daughter is thinking about teaching. I forwarded it to her. Thanks for sharing it.
Some jobs should come with a red cape...
It should be broadcast on every tv station in the nation - during prime time! He so eloquently makes his statement about how we in the (teaching) trenches feel every day! I know that I am going to send the link to every teacher I know - and work with!
