I've finally gotten around to making some pots...it was over 2 months without touching the clay...no good.
This is a further variation on a shape I've been exploring.
Dessert plates...I know I promised a trimming video, but I forgot, oops.
Cap jars, one of my favorite things to make.

Brandon, do you have a recommendation for a ^6 white clay? I have a small group of potter-friends who are searching for a good throwing clay that is vitrified at ^6. I'm well supplied with my BlackJack!
Thanks for your helps.
Looking good!
oh gosh...i have no idea about cone 6 clays, my experience with premixed clays are limited to cone 10 clays. i despise clay world's(san antonio) clays, they put plastic vitrox in everything like it's going out of style(makes the clay feel like rubber, ewww)...armadillo would be the lesser of 2 evils. i know a gal here in town who uses lots of cinco blanco(armadillo) with good results. trinity in dallas and some place in houston sell laguna clays for a hefty premium. i've read lots of bad things on clayart recently about their cone 6 b-mix, so i'd stay away from that. i'm afraid that's all i know!
Hey Brandon, I've never seen cap jars before. I'd like to get a more details look at how they fit together. They're pretty cool.
Am I the only Potter out there who wears an apron? LOL :)
I like the new shape, especially with the handles. Everything else looks great, too.
TWO MONTHS?!? I can't imagine that.
Brandon -- nice bunch of pots. I really like the jars and I like the textured ring on the desert plates. Is the cap jar thrown as a closed form & cut?
I wear an apron & my pants/shirt still look like that. I always wonder how some potters stay so clean. Are they having fun?
Glad to see you throwing again, love the jars! I wore the same jeans for three days while throwing at Penland and they could almost stand up by themselves. I love that though, feels like I've been working!
good to get back in the groove... going there myself today. those pants look the way they're supposed to look
